About

The blog here is an automated blog powered by a combination of del.icio.us. I have a del.icio.us account and I became aware of the fact that this free tool offered a way to do automatic blog posting of your daily links. However, there is currently an issue with posting to Blogger accounts, which is what I usually use. So I decided to try WordPress and have been using it since the day after my 30th birthday, 2006/02/23. There are no other categories or posts so far that deal with anything else. This site is hosted with Arconati.net. To learn more information about me, my family and my sites, feel free to start there.

More About del.icio.us

Bookmarking and adding sites to favorites has evolved! It’s a big step to take, but rather than save your favorites in one spot, in one folder directory on one computer, why not post them quickly and publicly to a place where everyone can see and share them. Perhaps I better let del.icio.us explain it better:

del.icio.us is a collection of favorites – yours and everyone else’s. You can use del.icio.us to:

  • Keep links to your favorite articles, blogs, music, reviews, recipes, and more, and access them from any computer on the web.
  • Share favorites with friends, family, coworkers, and the del.icio.us community.
  • Discover new things. Everything on del.icio.us is someone’s favorite — they’ve already done the work of finding it. So del.icio.us is full of bookmarks about technology, entertainment, useful information, and more. Explore and enjoy.

del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website — the primary use of del.icio.us is to store your bookmarks online, which allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, too. On del.icio.us, you can use tags to organize and remember your bookmarks, which is a much more flexible system than folders.

More About WordPress

Quite normally and on an every day basis, I am a Blogger fan. However, I was interested in using daily blog posting from my del.icio.us account. Unfortunately, this feature does not currently work with Blogger.

From what I can gather, it appears to be a mistake on del.icio.us‘s end. But it’s a case of their-fault / their-fault and who knows what is really going on. At any rate, I created one wordpress blog for submitting my bookmarks through del.icio.us.
